What gives you your sense of purpose in life?

In short, 3 F's: Family, Faith, and Friends.

I'm a pupil of the Tom Izzo school of thought that "it's not about me, it's about we." Our greater mission is to entertain, educate, and empower people to their best leadership and life in this digital age. The hardest challenge is that you do have to do self-promotion around your personal brand. The way I'm able to push through it is by knowing that it helps our greater mission. Walt Disney started his company with his personal brand, but long term he was able to build something that lasted well beyond his personal brand that impacts people every day. Some days I may not have the energy to be "on" - whether that's performing, shaking hands, or signing autographs ... but at the end of the day these are great challenges to have and what always keeps me going is the mission. I want to make sure we help everyone that needs help. Also, my readers, audience, fans, and people we help are what fuel me -- their smiles, tears, laughter, and kind words keep me going.

At the end of the day, my #1 goal is to live up to the #1 Dad Coffee Mug my daughters and wife gave me.

How did you come to discover your purpose?

Initially, through my books and keynotes, I focused on the brain, but then I realized more people are interested in the heart. So, it's been a journey, it's been a learned process to combine the two but I've learned to always start and end with the heart. People don't care what you know until they know that you care.

How do you connect your purpose to everyday life and work?

Our mission is to entertain, educate, and empower people to their best life. Our goal is to reach 7 Billion People by 2030, we are closing in on 100 million so we still have a way to go!

We do this through our edutainment materials: books, keynotes, website, board games (Kittycorn), podcast (Super U), animation videos, and other outlets.

How do you remain vibrant, encouraged, and energized?

1. Being around people - we are social animals. Other people give me energy. Getting into nature to remind myself, in a good way, how small my problems are.

2. The attitude of gratitude - thinking of things I should be grateful for like my amazing family, health, the sun on my face, etc.

3. Looking down at my two feet and being thankful for having two feet and also that I have two choices every day 1) be enthusiastic 2) be very enthusiastic

What is one thing that you do every day that is a necessity for your success?

Being kind.

Any other thoughts or words of encouragement for others on the journey!?
